Membership Perx, explained
Membership Perx is a digital discount membership the organization sells to its own base of families, alumni, and neighbors. Supporters pay once, then save at approved local and online businesses for the full term. The organization keeps its agreed share of every membership sold, every purchase is credited to the student or team who shared the link, and because memberships come up for renewal, a campaign built once can keep producing revenue in the seasons that follow. Nothing is printed, boxed, counted, delivered, or returned at any point in the process.

How It Works
Start To Finish.
Each stage below shows what happens, why it matters, and who is responsible for it.
The organization is onboarded
Local PerxLocal Perx builds the organization page, the campaign link, and the checkout that carries the program's name and colors.
Setup covers the organization profile, cause statement, campaign goal, and the leaderboard structure — individual students, teams, or classes. There is nothing to order and no minimum quantity to commit to.
The merchant lineup is approved
Local Perx + merchantsOffers come from businesses that have been reviewed and approved, plus national online offers available to every member.
Local offers are grouped by county so a member sees what is genuinely near them first, then state and national offers underneath. Merchants set their own offer terms and those terms are shown in full before redemption.
Students and families share one link
ParticipantsA text, email, social post, or QR code sends a supporter straight to the checkout page for that specific student or team.
Because the link carries attribution, there is no spreadsheet to reconcile and no envelope of order forms. The moment a supporter checks out, the student's leaderboard position updates.
The supporter checks out
SupporterCheckout takes seconds and offers the other three programs as optional add-ons on the same screen.
Supporters choose whether to cover the processing fee (3.5% + $0.40 per transaction) or have the organization absorb it. The membership is issued immediately on completion.
Members redeem all year
Member + merchantAt the counter or online, the member opens the offer, redeems it, and the savings are recorded in their wallet.
In-store redemptions generate a one-time code with a timestamp and location so the merchant can confirm the member is present, and the code expires shortly after it is shown.
Renewal season comes around
Local Perx + organizationMemberships come up for renewal, so last year's supporters can fund this year's program without a cold start.
Renewals are credited back to the same organization, which is the part a one-time product sale can never do. The base you build in year one is an asset in year two.
For The Organization
Why It Works For The Program.
What the organization actually gets out of running this alongside the other three programs.
No inventory and no upfront cost
There is nothing to purchase, count, sort, deliver, or return. No product risk sits in a closet when the season ends, and no family is ever left holding unsold stock.
Revenue that renews
A membership has a renewal date. A candy bar does not. Building a membership base compounds across seasons instead of resetting to zero every year.
Credit follows the student
Attribution is automatic, so individual and team leaderboards stay accurate without a single volunteer tally sheet — and accurate leaderboards are what keep participation high.
A dramatically easier ask
The conversation changes from "please give us money" to "here is something worth having that also helps us." Supporters who dislike being solicited will still buy value.
Clean reporting for the board
Every sale, share, and payout is recorded, so treasurer reports and booster-board updates come out of the system rather than out of memory.
Works far outside the local zip code
Online and national offers mean an out-of-state grandparent still gets real value from a membership bought to support a hometown program.
Why Supporters Say Yes
- Offers from reviewed, approved local businesses plus online brands
- The membership lives on the phone — nothing to carry, mail, or lose
- Savings and redemption history tracked automatically in the wallet
- One purchase supports a specific student, team, or organization
- Renewal is a choice, never an automatic surprise charge
Where The Money Goes
- The organization keeps its agreed share of every membership sold.
- Renewals in later years are credited back to the same organization.
- Processing fees of 3.5% + $0.40 per transaction are disclosed at checkout.
- Supporters can choose to cover the processing fee so more reaches the program.
- Payouts and attribution are reported per student, team, and campaign.

- 2
Collect the roster and photos
Participant names and any approved photos, with parental permission handled by the organization.

Playbook
How The Strongest Campaigns Run It.
Practical guidance from how this program is designed to be used.
Launch with a deadline, not an open window
A defined end date creates the reason to act now. Campaigns that run indefinitely lose momentum after the first weekend.
Give every participant a script
A three-sentence message they can paste removes the hardest part of asking.
Post the leaderboard mid-campaign
Standings shared halfway through re-engage the people who meant to share and forgot.
Plan renewal season now
Put the renewal window on the calendar the day the campaign closes — it is the cheapest revenue you will raise all year.
